The Plate-Shell heat exchanger is a cross between a
shell and tube, and a plate and frame heat exchanger. Corrugated
plates are welded together and are placed into a shell. The units
can be put into services where a plate & frame cannot be used
due to pressure, temperature or gasket issues, and without the
size and cost associated with a shell and tube.
